FREIGHT WEBSITE & TRACKINGLIVE

Cargo Shipping Company Website

A redesign for an inter-island cargo company shipping by sea, land and air. Customers check a rate from weight and dimensions, book a pickup, and follow each waybill through clear milestones; business accounts keep invoices and documents in one place, and the warehouse plans container loading on a single board.

Cargo Shipping Company Website

01The Challenge

The old homepage opened with a full orange banner, a long all-caps headline and a hero image that failed to load. Rates were scattered through long SEO articles, there was no rate calculator on the site, and there was no way to track a shipment, so every status question went to customer service.

Services were shown as six island illustrations rather than shipping modes, so visitors could not compare sea LCL, full containers, trucking, air, vehicles or heavy equipment by transit time and minimum load. Free pickup was promised in several places but could only be arranged through one of three WhatsApp numbers, and corporate clients had no account, invoice history or shipping documents online.

02The Solution

The homepage opens with one widget for tracking, rate checks and pickup requests over a port photo, followed by a comparison of six shipping modes, a route table with sailing days, transit times and rates from the main warehouse, a business account section with sample invoices, and the two offices. The quote flow takes the number of parcels, weight and dimensions, shows actual, volumetric and chargeable weight, prices four services side by side, adds insurance or wooden crating, and books a pickup slot before the vessel cut-off.

The tracking page shows five milestones, a dated event history, the vessel, container and seal numbers, a loading photo, downloadable documents and the other shipments on the same business account. In the warehouse, a load plan lists weighed shipments waiting to be loaded next to each container and truck, with volume and weight bars that update as items are assigned. The planned production stack is Next.js with Supabase, WhatsApp notifications and PDF documents.
